In the realm of contemporary interior design, the boundary between visual art and functional furniture is becoming increasingly fluid. At the Nos Samul restaurant in Prato, we had the privilege of translating this philosophy into a spatial reality, crafting a bespoke installation that redefines both the architecture and the sensory journey of the guests.
THE ULTRAMODERN FIBERGLASS LIGHT INSTALLATION
The visual centerpiece of the space is an unconventional, ultramodern light installation—a suspended sculptural artwork floating gracefully above the dining area. Entirely crafted from high-grade fiberglass, the structure leverages the material’s exceptional lightness and ductility to shape organic, dynamic contours. Rather than merely illuminating the room, it actively interacts with its surroundings: the embedded light source penetrates the translucent, textured surface of the fiberglass, diffusing a soft, dramatic, and deeply immersive glow. It stands as a perfect synthesis of cutting-edge technology and rigorous sculptural form.
TECHNICAL & ARTISTIC FOCUS
The implementation of layered fiberglass allowed us to transcend the structural constraints of traditional materials, enabling the creation of large-scale fluid geometries that capture and modulate light.
THE BESPOKE SEATING
To complete the space, we designed and crafted a collection of exclusive seating pieces that merge ergonomic comfort with pure, uncompromised geometry. Engineered to seamlessly integrate into the overall interior concept of Nos Samul, these seats establish a grounding material counterpoint to the aerial light installation, offering guests an immersive environment that engages both sight and touch.
